General advice about Pashminas
Buying a pashmina is tricky. For one thing, the price is non-negligible. You have to know the basic terms, and you need to be aware of the disinformation out there.
Of course, there are many parameters to consider: size, fabric, color, customization (including embroidery, print, beading, and special fringes).
The gallery above has links to pages for each major variety of wrap,
where you will find some specific details, but you'll get a better overview on our Options page.
Shopping on Sunrise
Prices are given in US dollars.
We confirm before taking your money. When you complete and submit an order,
it may appear that you have actually paid,
but in fact we do not process payment until later,
after we have checked all details of your order, sent you a Confirmation Memo, and given you a chance to correct or change any particular.
Shipping is a flat $14.50 per order (i.e., per shipment to a single destination). If you're wondering why it costs the same to send a package to a customer in New York State, not far from our office, as to a customer in Zimbabwe or Australia, we do have a rationale. All of our stuff is produced in Kathmandu, Nepal, and shipped by courier to Ithaca, NY, and then shipped to each customer as the orders come in. So the total shipping cost is substantially more than what we charge as the shipping fee. Our feeling is that customers everywhere should get the same deal. Also, the flat rate may encourage some customers to buy multiple pieces at a time, which saves us time and material as well as postage compared to what it would take to send several pieces separately to the same place.
Customer comment on Trustpilot.com:
The shawl was beyond perfection. But just as impressive is the personal attention and care. Twelve years later, it is the best Pashmina I have ever owned at any price point.
