The indigo shawl arrived. It is lovely! I'm not sure I've ever felt anything so soft. I had one question, though. Are we sure that it is the heavier "4 paddle" variety? There is nothing blanket-y about it. It does not seem any thicker than my sister's pashmina (the one that sent me on this "looking for a pashmina journey" in the first place), though it is significantly softer. Though I haven't tried, I suspect it could be pulled through many sorts of wedding jewelry. I'm just checking as warm as possible was my objective. I haven't had a chance to try as they won't turn off the heat in my classroom 'till this afternoon.
Kudos on your presentation, the bag (how did you know I love green, the wee bag, the earrings (again green!) were all beautiful! Even though I knew to expect them they surprised me with their quality and grace.
One more color question. What do you see as the differences between 18LL and 43L, both in dark to light but more importantly in tone. Is 18LL closer to peach and 43L bluer and closer to orchid of lavender? It's very difficult to discern those subtle differences on a monitor.

The mufflers could be promoted as a childrens' article as well. Of course with the necessary care to go with the muffler. But the size is perfect for children!

One little suggestion I have for your website would be regarding the embroidery samples. It is difficult to see the detail when the stitches are the same color as the shawl. I received my birthday present from my husband last Friday. It was a dove gray shawl in a jacquard weave. How do I begin to tell you how thrilled I was with your merchandise!! It is absolutely beautiful, just the perfect size for me(I'm petite) Not a whole lot of fringe - just the right amount. The present was an entire experience. First we noticed the wax seals on the envelope and were intrigued by the stamps. Second the addition of a beautiful brocade bag to hold the shawl ( a second gift). Third the lovely earrings in another brocade bag! Peridot is a green stone and the birthone of August. Was it a coincidence the earrings were silver with a green stone. I don't think so! Last year, I bought a pashmina from Macy's. Nothing fancy- a nice, basic 70/30 that I was proud to have gotten on sale. (I still paid more for it than I did yours.) But I was happy with this pashmina until yours arrived. (I swear I can hear my Macy's pashmina sobbing in the closet at this moment. I think it is suffering from an inferiority complex. It should.) The understated elegance of your jacquard pattern- the sublime softness of the material- the exquisite embroidered bag it was packaged in (no, I mean REAL bag, as in handbag...with a zippered pocket!!!)- the beautiful earrings in the precious little bag (with bell-shaped ties!!!)- the envelope marked "Katmandu," (Oh! And how does one have something arrive from Nepal in less than a week? And why does it cost so little?) and the wax seal- the note, on handmade paper, written by Tsering... It is all so beautiful! And it could not have had a more romantic presentation if it were delivered by Lord Byron himself (OK, maybe a little- but not much)! I was so impressed with your mission and service that I ordered several more as gifts. And I just placed another order (a muffler for my 9-yr-old daughter to use as a shawl, & some more earrings...and a pearl necklace...or two...or three...or....

I received this order today, and the pashminas are to-die-for- as are the earrings & beautiful bags. I was wondering, though, if I could exchange the "dove gray" one for the "double chocolate." The gray color has a blue color cast, and well... just looks more blue to me than gray.
Also, I had inquired about having Tsering make a jaquard patterned pashmina shawl (Chinese Antique White) in a cropped 28" X 65" length for my daughter, but haven't yet heard whether this is possible. If it IS possible, then perhaps it might make the exchange easier, and the new order (shawl) could be sent with the exchange.
I truly hope he can make the shawl for her; she is SO in LOVE with the ones that arrived today (but they dwarf her little 4 ft. body!)

Just 1 week after my order in a beautifully addressed and sealed package from Nepal came my three beautiful pashminas. My children were awed as I opened the package. I explained to my 10 year old daughter how special pashminas are - and how when I am gone they will be hers some day. I gave her one of the silk bags- which she was thrilled with. And - two days later I have managed to wear all three shawls already! My black pashmina was worn that day as a chill set in. The fire engine red looked smashing over all black to a blues concert that night. And I wore the baby blue to church the next morning, where I was the reader - so the pashmina had all eyes on it! >

A greenish teal one would set off much of my wardrobe. I also fanticize about a orangy-brownish-red, to finished with gold embroidery and beads! What would you call such a color? For Christmas I ordered two pashminas and a scarf/muffler from you based solely upon the pleasant, chatty, informative tone of your Web site...I trusted you just because of that. When I got notification that half of my order had been shipped, but I heard not a word about the other half, I got a wee bit concerned and e-mailed you. When I had no reply to that e-mail, I got much more concerned -- concerned that you might take my money and run or that there was no way the gifts would arrive from halfway around the world in time for Christmas.
Just a couple of days after the order was sent, apparently, and right before Christmas, I got a mushed-up, tattered, gray envelope from you -- that looked a little as if it had come all the way by yak. I tentatively opened it and saw shiny gold threads and a swirly/paisley design. It certainly did not look like the "dark charcoal" pashmina that I ordered and I moaned "Oh NO" out loud to myself. I pulled out a shoulder bag and said, "WHAT did they send me?!?!" and my heart sunk at the thought that I did not have the right Christmas gift...but wait...there was something inside the bag! OH YES! The BEAUTIFUL pashmina...and the beautiful muffler! Oh, that bag was just fun packaging! Wait...there was more...a little bag tucked in with the muffler. Isn't that sweet? Hey, wait, there was something inside the little bag! EARRINGS! Gosh...the Christmas gift that keeps on giving! Whew...what fun that was to open!
My sister then called just the day before Christmas and described her experience doing exactly the same "Hey! Wait!..." thing as I did. She thanked me over and over and over for all the fun gifts -- and I didn't even have anything to do with most of them.
Well, I owe you a HUGE "Thank you" for getting all the wonderful gifts to us just in time for Christmas and for making the bit of concern worth it. Even Amazon.com couldn't get most of the gifts here in time and I ordered those much earlier than I ordered the gifts from you.

I did a lot of research about pashminas and I loved your company's philosophy. The fact that they are authentic, hand made, reasonably priced, and your site's glowing fan mail is what sold me. The quality and feel of my shawl is exquisite. Thank you also for the lovely earrings and the bags that my pashmina came in. I am slightly torn about the french blue colour. It's really lovely but I was expecting the colour to be a little lighter. I know that the colours on the monitor are not reliable at all. I was wondering if you have a blue lighter and brighter than your french blue but not a light as baby blue. The wedgewood on Pashm or the cornflower blue on Draas is more what I was expecting. If these colours are very close to the french blue I will not bother returning mine, and I'll order a light coloured one in the spring. Let me know what you think. I got back from Japan a few days ago and finally feel awake enough to write emails. I just wanted to let you know that the two jacquard shawls I gave as gifts (red and blue) were met with great enthusiasm. My mother-in-law likes me and my husband's family finally accepts me after eight years of marriage! It was an incredible trip and I'm so glad that I had such a worthy gift to give. She actually thought the fancy outer "wrap" was the gift! I had to show her that it was the thing inside that was the actual gift!
The red shawl was given to the mother of the groom at the wedding we attended. The color and softness of the shawl thrilled the recipient and she wrote me a letter (in Japanese) telling me so. Those are truly the nicest Pashmina shawls I've ever seen. I brought my black one along with me, but it was actually too hot to wear it except while I was on the plane! Hello again. It was amazing to deal with you; the personal touch was very welcome and the service seemed downright incredible. I had not read the fan mail before ordering my first shawl and so was delighted to unwrap the parcel and marvel at the "envelope" for the pashmina. At first I thought there had been a mistake until I delved further into the wrappings, As it happens, the taupe color did not coordinate well with other taupe garments I have and I was about to send it back. But then a friend saw it and fell in love with it so her husband is buying it for her as an early birthday present. I have just submitted my order for a black shawl and will look forward to receiving it in about a week. I really don't understand how it can arrive from Nepal so quickly but I'm now an "experienced" and no longer apprehensive customer.

Oh my God, I got the shawls today and I couldn't believe how stunning they were! I opened the blue one first and it absolutely amazed me with the sheen of the yarn and the beauty of the pattern. That is the most elegant weave I've ever seen and I have seen lots of different types. That will make a fabulous gift for my mother in law. Maybe she'll even like me now. And the purses are gorgeous! I didn't expect them to look like such treasures! I read the letters on your website, but didn't picture anything like that. How imaginative and wonderful to include them in the purchase! I absolutely don't have to gift-wrap them now. I did unwrap the tissue, of course, to admire all three, so I had to put them in new tissue paper and reattach your label, but no problem.
Speaking of labels, I notice that there aren't any labels on the shawls. Is that because they're samples, or because the manufacturer thinks labels don't look nice on the shawls? [Yes.] I've seen people who said they would rather not have them labeled because it didn't blend into the shawl and looked tacky. I was just wondering about yours. For the two I'm giving as gifts, that's why I reattached the paper label, so the ladies will know what they have in their hands for sure. I can tell just by the feel and the look, but you never know with other people. The red shawl is incredible! That is exactly the red I can wear, a real blue-red scarlet color. I have a gown in that exact color and shoes to match...two gowns actually. Maybe when you have more available, I should have a red one for myself. Meanwhile, the black one suits me well and is stashed in my tansu chest of treasures.

I hope you have a fabulous trip to Nepal, next time you go. Maybe I'll see it someday myself. I do travel quite a lot and always bring Pashmina with me, usually two or three!

My secretary follows behind me now and collects everything that I do so she can re-do it properly. She refuses to go to the gym, however.
